Calligraphy is an ancient art actually it is a type of visual art. Whereas Islamic calligraphy is our religious as well as cultural heritage, its protection is our collective responsibility. Islamic calligraphy is associated with geometric art. Proverbs and passage from the holy qur’anare the major source of inspiration.’’ There are many types of scripts practiced the world over for calligraphic paintings by Zulfiqar Ali but the most preferable is khat-‐e-kufi. Zulfiqar Ali usually focuses in kufi script which was practiced much before islam. With the advent of islam, Muslims promoted this script and brought into it. Zulfiqar writes quranic words on canvas in a modern style. His creativity expresses his board vision and artistic qualities.
