Tassaduq Sohail

Tassaduq Sohail (1930–2017) was a Pakistani painter and short story writer known for his surrealist and often narrative-driven work. Born in Jalandhar, he moved to Karachi in 1952, where he became involved with the Urdu literary scene before moving to London in the 1960s and taking classes at St Martin’s School of Art. His paintings, many created during his forty years in London, feature a distinctive style that combines grotesque and primitive imagery with social commentary and themes of fantasy.
