Mohsin Sheikh

Pakistani Contemporary Artist

Mohsin Shaikh is a contemporary Pakistani artist known for his imaginative and concept-driven practice that explores themes of self-discovery, fantasy, and emotional expression. Born in Taxila in 1990, he holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting from the National College of Arts.

While formally trained as a painter, Shaikh’s artistic approach extends across multiple mediums, including sculpture, miniature, and printmaking. His work reflects a belief in artistic freedom beyond conventional rules, allowing him to create deeply personal and expressive visual narratives.

Shaikh’s practice is rooted in a poetic exploration of inner worlds and imagined realities. His compositions often evoke a dreamlike quality, where elements of fantasy—such as celestial forms and floating landscapes—symbolize a journey of introspection and emotional escape from the constraints of social realities.

Since 2015, he has actively exhibited in both solo and group shows across major art hubs including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Dubai, New York, and Washington. In 2016, he was awarded First Prize at the Emerging Artists of Pakistan exhibition at VM Art Gallery, Karachi.

Today, Mohsin Shaikh continues to engage audiences with his distinctive visual language, positioning himself as a dynamic voice in contemporary Pakistani art.
