Humaira Hussain (b. 1963, Pakistan) is a celebrated Pakistani-Irish contemporary painter known for her vibrant, densely layered celebrations of the natural world. A student of the legendary master landscape painter Ghulam Rasool, she holds a Fine Arts degree from Punjab University and a postgraduate degree in Migration Diaspora Cultural Studies from the University of Ireland. Hussain’s signature aesthetic is defined by an energetic “horror vacui”—a deliberate packing of the canvas with lush flora, fluttering birds, and butterflies—bringing themes of peace, wilderness, and paradisiacal perfection to life.
