Faruq Siyal

Faruq Siyal, also known as Farooq Siyal, is a Pakistani visual artist recognized for his expressive watercolor and oil paintings that explore themes of introspection, peace, and cultural identity. Born in 1968 in Dera Ismail Khan, he developed an early interest in art during his school years and later refined his skills under the guidance of several local mentors.

Siyal’s artistic practice often centers on self-portraits and figurative compositions that reflect personal reflection and the human condition. Working in watercolor, oil, and drawing, he uses vibrant colors and natural motifs—such as flowers—to symbolize harmony, tolerance, and non-violence.

Throughout his career, Siyal has participated in numerous group exhibitions across Pakistan, including shows in Peshawar, Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, and Dera Ismail Khan. His achievements include winning First Prize at the Sarhad Cultural Exhibition in 1992 and the S.S. Hyder Award in 1998 in Peshawar. He has also been recognized by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with the “Saqafat Kay Zinda Ameen” award for his contribution to art and culture.

Through his work, Faruq Siyal continues to celebrate cultural diversity and convey messages of peace, reflection, and human connection
