Writing is usually the work of scholars and literary people, and for me it has never been easy. However, with humility I wish to share a few words about my journey. From an early age, my only desire in life was to become a painter. Leaving my village Sanjarpur in District Rahim Yar Khan with little support, I moved to Karachi in search of my artistic path, guided only by faith and determination.
A turning point in my life came when I met my guru, the renowned master Jamil Naqsh, through the introduction of the celebrated poet Obaidullah Aleem. Under his guidance, I learned not only the technical discipline of painting but also the deeper philosophy and spirit of art. His teachings shaped my understanding that art is born from patience, devotion, and constant discovery.
Art, for me, is a journey without a final destination. Whatever I learned from my guru has become part of my soul, and the respect, love, and spiritual influence of his teachings continue to live through my paintings. My world is inspired by my father Pritam Daas, my guru, and my faith in God, all of which guide my artistic expression.
